1) Project Management for railway Clients
2) Precontract services including Bid Management and graphics
3) Estimating for post and precontract stages.

Our Client base includes Network Rail, West Midlands Trains and leading Tier One Contractors such as Morgan Sindall and Graham Group.

Project Management Requirements

Demand for our Project Management service has been growing throughout 2020 and into 2021 and we are supporting TOCs in the Midlands with an increasing demand on us. Role skills, experience and qualifications are detailed below:

Essential

  • Expertise having delivered projects on-the-ground to GRIP or RIBA processes.

  • Understanding of railway safety requirements including Delivering Work Within Possessions regulations.

  • Experience in managing procurement processes and contracts for suppliers on behalf of our Clients to NEC contracts or similar.
     

Desirable

  • Railway experience in a Train Operator Company (TOC) or multi-stakeholder environment.

  • Membership (or working towards) the Association of Project Management membership.

  • Degree/HND/HNC level qualified in a relevant discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience.

The below list details key accountabilities that the winning candidate will be responsible for:

1. Working within the Client Project Team and accountable for delivery of a range of varied complexity projects in a safe & environmentally responsible manner to time, cost and quality, in accordance with the Client Governance and applicable company standards, current legislation and procedures including HMRI guidance where appropriate.


2. Supporting the project Client Management in preparing and maintaining definitions of the project requirements.


3. Managing multi-disciplinary teams including commercial, programme controls, engineering, and others to identify solutions

to client requirements and establish a robust baseline plan.


4. Identifying and monitoring project risks (threats and opportunities), plan and implement mitigations to them, and respond to other issues that affect the project.


5. Implementing and updating resource allocation plans needed for delivery of the project including identification and management of critical resource requirements. Secure resources needed for projects from internal and external sources.


6. Managing stakeholders, taking account of their levels of influence and particular interests.


7. Managing project reviews at appropriate points throughout the project lifecycle which will inform governance decisions of projects by providing evaluations of progress, performance, risk, contingency, and continuing relevance.


8. Establishing and implementing where necessary, protocols to change the scope of projects and updating configuration documents as required.
